Corfo invites domestic and foreign entities, established or to be established in Chile, that possess verifiable experience, along with the technical and financial capabilities, to submit proposals for carrying out projects for the development of value-added products that use Lithium Carbonate produced within the country by the company Albemarle. The selected entities will be able to access a guaranteed supply of Lithium Carbonate from Albemarle at a preferential price until 2043.
Domestic and foreign entities established or to be established in Chile, that are interested in developing value-added products based on lithium within the country, from a guaranteed supply of lithium carbonate produced by Albemarle sold at a preferential price.
The establishment in Chile of domestic or foreign entities, that will develop an investment project and produce value-added products based on lithium, including, for example: cathode materials and/or its precursors, battery cathodes, other lithium battery components, metallic lithium, among other applications. Furthermore, selected entities are expected to generate local capacities and value, incentivize technological development, promote the development of productive chains, and generate conditions that enable Chile’s sustainable development.
Lithium Carbonate (LI2CO3) at a Preferential Price:
Initial volume availability of 9,599 tons per year of Lithium Carbonate Equivalent (LCE), increasing annually up to 15,998 tons per year, from year 5 onwards.
